Jonna Collings (Sheeder (Bellmore))


 

Born on June 12, 1936, in Clinton, Indiana, Jonna was the daughter of Claude “Ike” and Genevieve Collings. Jonna loved growing up on the farm in Parke County, Indiana and ensured that her children would enjoy the stability that the family farm provided. 

Jonna was a wonderful mother of 4, Grandmother of 9, and Great Grandmother of 14. Jonna loved her Lord, her family, and her country. 

Jonna served her country as a United States Air Force spouse for 20 years, served her community as an oncology nurse for 20 years, was an excellent seamstress, a great quilter, and was generally a wonderful human being.

Jonna loved her life in The Villages, loved Dixieland jazz, loved her quilting friends and really enjoyed winning dimes from her Mahjong buddies. 

Jonna is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Thomas Sheeder, and is survived by her brother Burk (Betty) Collings, her son Mark (Laura) McElroy, her son Rodney (Quida) McElroy, her daughter Brenda (Rito) Alvarado, and her son Jeffrey McElroy.

A Celebration of Life will be held on the family farm in Indiana, on June 13th, 2026.  Jonna passed away January 11, 2026.
