Waneta Martin Overpeck

Bill was drafted in 1951, spent the next three years following him. Spent most of that time in Montgomery, Ala. Had our first child there in the army hospital.----He served three years and was called home because of his dad's health. I have been here in Rockville ever since. Just had our 59th anniversary--July 2, 2009. Have had a wonderful life with a full house of children and their friends and all their ativities. I voluntered 8 years at the Clinton hospital, I was secretary for the CARS ASSOC. when it was starting. Worked in the store off and on and was treasurer there for many years. Busy, busy, busy with my church and all its activities. Years ago I started and operated their library. Just serving the Good Lord in whatever capacity I was eligible to do. He has done so much for us over the years, the least I could do with my life Is TO SERVE HIM.
Was a country gal most of my life, and am now a city gal. HAS BEEN AN ADJUSTMENT.

I started out at a one room school on New Discovery Rd.
It was closed when I was going into the 7th grade. Then went to Rockville grade school. There was as many in one room of the same grade as there was in 8 grades in the one room school.
I graduated from Rockville, worked one year at the Rockville High School, then got married.
The rest of my schooling came from the School Of Hard Knocks".
