Dorothy Catherine “Kate” Jessup of Johns Creek, Georgia and formerly of

Rockville and Terre Haute, Indiana, went home to be with God on April 24, 2025.

Kate was born in September 12, 1925 in Greencastle, Indiana to the late Cecil

Daniel Norman and Jessie Alice Knauer Norman.

She was a 1943 graduate of Rockville High School. She also attended Indiana

State University in Terre Haute, IN. She worked for the Rockville Tribune as

Society Editor, Bookkeeper, and Office Manager and Parke County Sentinel as

Office Manager. She was also a Licensed Indiana Real Estate Agent and sold real

estate with Tom and Betty Farner.

Kate married her husband Max E. Jessup on January 22, 1949, and they shared just

shy of 48 wonderful years of marriage before his passing on January 7, 1997.

She is survived by one daughter, Christine Ann Goebel, granddaughter, Lindsay

Creighton Hoffman (Chris), and two cherished great-grandchildren, Gia London

and Roman Maxwell Gulati all of Johns Creek, Georgia. She also has a niece, Patty

Trout of Brownsburg, Indiana, cousin, Marceil Chapman of Rockville, special friends,

Joan Nasser and her family of Terre Haute. Kate was preceded in death by her

brother, Floyd Norman of St. Louis, MO and her sister, N. Ruth O’Donnell of Ft.

Lauderdale, FL.

Kate belonged to the Rockville Presbyterian Church, Tri Kappa Sorority, and the

Country Club of the South. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother

whose family meant the world to her. She and Max also loved to

dance to Big Band music with their friends. Known for her impeccable taste, Kate

had a natural talent for decorating and creating warm and inviting spaces in her

home.

Graveside Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 27 at Memory Garden Cemetery in

Rockville.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Gooch Funeral Home in

Rockville.
