Joan Gallo, 89, of Cornelius, North Carolina and formerly of Cape Coral, Florida and Rockville, passed away Friday, May 1, 2026, at S. Mitchell Mack Hospice in Cornelius. She was the retired co-owner of Gallo IGA in Rockville.
She was born May 1, 1937, in Parke County, Indiana to the late John Vincent Seward and Marjorie Faye Berry Seward. In 1986 she married Alcides “Al” Gallo, and he preceded her in death in 1994.
Survivors include one son, Mark Anglemyer of Cornelius, North Carolina; two granddaughters, Laina Gandy and Mickael Strope; seven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Sherry Seward of Brazil. She was preceded in death by a son, Curtis Anglemyer, three brothers, Bill, Bob and Alan Seward.
She was a 1955 graduate of Rockville High School and attended Indiana Business College. She enjoyed playing golf.
Public services will be 12 noon Saturday, May 9, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville, with Pastor Keith B. McIntyre officiating. Private burial will be at Memory Garden Cemetery, Rockville. Public visitation is from 10:00 am until 12 noon Saturday.
Memorials should friends so desire, may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 in her memory.
