I knew Darrell fairly well, and I want to say he was a hero  before he ever joined  the  service, i knew his family also, his older Sister went  to RHS, any way he  lived  where  the Catholic  church is now in a big 2  story house  that was also  the home of  children  that his parents  took care of, and  one  day  the house  caught on fire, and Darrell was  there  and  grabbed  at least one of  the little  kids  and jumped out of  the  second  story  and saved him self  and at least one of  the little  kids, and broke his leg, so Darrell was  a hero long before he  ever joined  the  service  to be killed in Vietnam, so  thank him for  giving his life  for  saving at least one of  the  children in the  childrens home  and giving his life  for  all of us  that we  may live our lives to  the fullest, Amen RIP Darrell we Love  You and  what  you sacrificed,.If I remember right  8 kids  died in that fire?
