Mary Jane Barnes, 85, of Avon, Indiana and formerly of Rockville, Indiana passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025, in her residence. She was a retired office manager for J.R. Chevrolet in Clinton with many years of service.

 She was born July 20, 1939, in Clinton, Indiana to the late Milford Richard Davies and Flossie Glen Swaim Davies. Her husband of 61 years, Dale Welsey Barnes whom she married March 26, 1959, preceded her in death November 22, 2020. 

Survivors include her children, Mark D. (Karen) Barnes of Bloomingdale and Durree Barnes of Avon; two grandsons, Dr. Wes (Dr. Danielle) Barnes of Birmingham, Michigan and Neal (Noelle) Barnes of Fishers; step grandchildren, Danika (Brad) Craycraft of Bloomingdale and Bryan (Mackenzie) Jones of Ferndale; four great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Emmie, Owen and Canon; six step great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Steve (Hazel) Hartman, Cynthia Hartman Jones, Rodger Davies, Melinda (Greg) Mace, and Ross (Beth) Davies. She was preceded in death by her sister, Martha Jean Hartman and brothers, Robert Lee Davies and Roger DeBaun Davies. 

She was a 1957 graduate of Rockville High School. She was a member of the Rockville First United Methodist Church, Gamma Sigma Chapter of Rockville Tri-Kappa, Garden Club and Rockville Current Literature Club. 

Services will be 2:00 pm Monday, February 24, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville with Pastor Keith B. McIntyre officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Garden Cemetery in Rockville. Visitation is 12 noon until 2:00 pm Monday at Gooch Funeral Home. 

Memorials should friends so desire, may be made to the charity of choice or the Parke-Vermillion Humane Society, PO Box 293, Newport, IN 47933 in her memory.
