Roger L. Bridge, 84, of Rockville, Indiana passed away Monday, November 13, 2023, in his residence. He was a retired educator and coach. His last 19 years teaching was at Rockville High School. He also taught in Royal Center and Morristown. He was also superintendent for both Parke County Golf Course and Turkey Run Golf Course. 

He was born January 15, 1939, in Whitley County, Indiana to the late Russell V. Bridge and Vera M. Smith Bridge. 

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Beverly Harrold Bridge whom he married August 17, 1958, in Columbia City, Indiana. Also surviving, three sons, Mark A. (Connie) Bridge of Rockville, Daniel L. (Cheryl) Bridge of Perrysville and Bob (Becky) Bridge of Plainfield; one daughter, Sheryle (Ted) Buck of Louisville, Kentucky;11 grandchildren, Derek (Brianne), Ryan (Kylie), Aaron (Meghan), Emily, Sam, Chelsea (Michael), Kandice (Max), Luke, (Kaya), Max, Livvy, and Bailey; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. 

 He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard C. Bridge. 

He was a 1957 graduate of Columbia City High School. He played football and received his bachelor’s degree from Manchester College. He received his master’s degree from Indiana University in 1966 and a master’s degree from Ball State University in 1976 and holds a degree in secondary administration. He was an active member and deacon at Immanuel Southern Baptist Church. He was a member of Indiana State and Parke County Retired Teachers’ Association and Gideons International. He was elected to two terms on the Rockville Community School Board serving on the final board before the establishment of North Central Parke Community Schools. He enjoyed golf and woodworking and was an avid Colts and IU fan. 

Services will be 3:00 pm Saturday, November 18, at Immanuel Southern Baptist Church, 3932 US-36, Rockville, with the Rev. Mark Houvenagle officiating. Burial will be in Memory Garden Cemetery, Rockville at a later date. Visitation is from 12 noon until 3:00 pm Saturday at the church.
