Laura Jane Martin-Dickey, 73, of Greencastle, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024.

She was born Sept. 25, 1950 in Clinton, the daughter of Robert Paul and Gradie (Decker) Martin.

She was a 1968 graduate of Rockville High School.

Laura wore many hats during her career working around Greencastle. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Women of the Moose.

She married her husband, Orville Dickey, on April 28, 2001, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 24, 2018.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Kay (Butch) Foxworthy and Sue (Charlie) Engle; brother Dennis “Doc” Martin; and sister-in-law Paula Martin.

Laura is survived by her sisters, Connie Griffin, Janet (Ron) Cannon and Jackie Earnhart; brother Larry Martin; adopted sister Becky Wildman; sister-in-law Lucille Liebert; brother-in-law George Dickey; uncles Hubert and Richard Decker; nieces and nephews Tony (Diana) Foxworthy, Melanie Foxworthy, Kelly (Ben) Baker, Alisa Exline and Chico, Marty (Chris) Engle, Hollie (Homer) Knopp, Brady (Della) Griffin, Wendy Griffin-Allen, Shane (Sommer) Cannon, Veronica Collins and Tom, Jamie Jo Martin, Stoney Lutes, Jason (Angela) Lutes and Coy Liebert; and several great- nieces and nephews.

Per Laura’s request, cremation was chosen.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 19 at the Clinton Falls Cemetery, followed by inurnment.

Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Laura to the donor’s charity of choice.
