Jackson Glenn Hartman, 17, of Rosedale, Indiana, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, December 19, 2025, at his residence. He was born March 3, 2008, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Zebulin Glenn Hartman and Andrea Lillian Marie Gordon Hartman. Jackson had just completed his senior year at Parke Heritage High School. He was proudly employed alongside his father at AHW–John Deere in Rockville. He was accepted into AHW’s Technician Program at Lake Land College.
Above all else, Jackson was a devoted father to his daughter, Alyvia Hartman. He loved her deeply and showed it by working hard and doing everything he could to set up her future. He took pride in buying her fresh "fits," watching her play, and making sure she was cared for. Alyvia was his greatest achievement.
Jackson was a loving big brother to Graylin and Emma. He took that role seriously even if it meant pestering them every chance he got. In the words of Graylin, “Jackson was a really good brother, someone who looked out for me.”
Jackson had the biggest heart and a personality that lit up every room. He was goofy in the best way, quick with humor, and always managed to make people smile just by being himself. He proudly called himself a “lover boy,” because his momma raised him right. He was a talented artist who expressed himself through his drawings and music. Jackson enjoyed the small things in life: satisfying his sweet tooth with Reese cups and midnight ice cream snacks, playing video games, cooking in the air fryer, and cars—particularly the 1988 BMW M3 E30 Evo II. Jackson showed his love and interests through his actions.
He is survived by his parents, Zebulin Glenn Hartman and Andrea Lillian Marie Gordon Hartman; his daughter, Alyvia Ann Hartman, and her mother, Sarah Patterson; his brother, Graylin Ford Hartman; his sister, Emma Grace Denise Hartman; grandparents, Harvey Glenn and Sandra Denise Hartman; aunts and uncles, Clayton and Josie Hartman, Justin and Chantelle Allen, Jeremy and Jaqi Allen; aunts, Alyssa, Mel, Debbie, Robin, Aubrey, and Ya Ya; and cousins, Devin, Chloe, Walker, Kayden, Torin, Lilly, Sylvianna, Corrick, Benton and Aurora.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Sherl Glenn and Lillian Hartman; Warren and Gladys Gordon; Harlow and Betty Ford; and his best friend, Bradley “Tedo” Montclair.
Services will be 11:00 am Saturday, December 27, at Friendly Grove Baptist Church, 8576 S. 75 W., Rosedale, with Pastor Perry Mager officiating. Burial will follow at Clear Run Cemetery, Bridgeton. Visitation will be 4-8 pm Friday at the Friendly Grove Baptist Church.
