Louis T. Havey, 97, of Rockville, Indiana passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024, in his residence. He retired from Allison Detroit Diesel Division. He was born August 27, 1926 in Rockville, Indiana to the late Louis Edward Havey and Eliabeth Firestone Havey. 

His wife of 71 years, Barbara Jones Havey, whom he married December 29, 1950 preceded him in death February 7, 2022. 

 Survivors include two daughters, Susan Chobanov and Karen Walters; one son, James Havey all of Rockville; one brother, Charles Havey of Payson, Arizona; six grandchildren, Kirsten Redman, Christopher Chobanov, Kendra McCann, Shannan Shannon, Ashley Walters and Brady Walters; thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 5 sisters, Myrtle Jones, Edith Lawson, Bertha Lou Clevenger, Clara Vargason, Virginia Neuendorf, three brothers, John Edward, Patrick and Donald Gene Havey.

 He was a 1944 graduate of Rockville High School. He served in the United States Army Air Corp during WW II. He was a member of The National Rifle Association, with a passion for target shooting and mushroom hunting, as well as playing music and the guitar.

 Services will be 2:00 pm Monday, July 1, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville with Charles Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Garden Cemetery in Rockville. Visitation is from 12 noon until 2:00 pm Monday at Gooch Funeral Home.
