ROCKVILLE- Ellen D. Carr McGill, 71, of Rockville, Indiana died at 1:05 pm Friday May 10, 2013 in her residence. 

She retired from A.F. Dormeyer Industries, Rockville, Hill's Department Store and 500 Platolene both in Terre Haute. 

She was born June 21, 1941 in Buffalo, Indiana to the late Cyrl DeWayne Carr and Rena Catholine Jolly Carr Presnell. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step-father, William Lowell Presnell. 

Survivors include five daughters, Winifred "Wendy" (Chad) Bixler of Randallman, North Carolina, Annette (Ed) Purvis of McCleansville, North Carolina, Vickie Winder of Rockville, Indiana, Pam (Steve McElory) Reynolds of Montezuma, Indiana, Merideth (Frank Krusely) McGill of Rockville, Indiana; one sister, Terry Simpson of Joplin, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Laura Schaibley, Cassidy White, Joey Reynolds, LaTashia Purvis, Jared (Mazi) Reynolds, Angelica Purvis, Jessica Purvis , and Isabella Krusely; three great-grandchildren, Elli Garry, Colton Reynolds and Ava Purvis.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Meriam "Cathy" Curtis July 25, 2011 and a brother, Earle DeWayne Carr on December 4, 1942. 

She was a graduate of Bellmore High School. She served in the U.S. Army, Women's Army Corp from 1959-1962 as an operation specialist 4th class. She was a Christian since a small child attending the former Nyesville United Bretheren Church. She was a giver to everyone, a great cook. She loved to play the piano especially spiritual songs. 

Visitation will be 10:00 am to 12 noon Tuesday, May 14, in Gooch Funeral Home at 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville. A graveside service with military honors by Parke County veterans will follow at 12:30 pm in Memory Garden Cemetery, Rockville. A celebration of life will begin at 1:30 pm Tuesday, May 14, in the Rockville First United Methodist Church, 128 N. Market Street, with Pastor Dave Marty and Pastor Tim Russell officiating.
