Clarence P. Staggs Jr., 82, died at 7:50 p.m. Tuesday,  May 2, 2017, at Rockville Nursing and Rehab Center.

He was born Aug. 28, 1934, in Parke County, the son of Clarence P. Staggs Sr. and Elizabeth F. Coombs Staggs. He married Hazel M. Bedwell Reed on Aug. 14, 1983, at Crawfordsville. She survives at Rockville.

Mr. Staggs retired from RR Donnellys after 35 years. He graduated from Union Township High School in 1955. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of VFW Post #1752 at Rockville.

Other survivors include: children, John P. Staggs, Rockville, and Deanna L. Stabler, Crawfordsville; step-daughter Phyllis Jean West, Crawfordsville; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-son Michael Demoret; two sisters; and three brothers.

A celebration of life service will be conducted 1-5 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2017, at the Bellmore Firehouse. Barnes and Rice Funeral Home of Rockville assisted with arrangements.
