Mary Lois Yegerlehner, 90, of Clay City, Indiana passed away at her home, surrounded by family, on November 25, 2018.

She was born on October 9, 1928, in Parke County, Indiana the daughter of Reuben and Lois (Goss) Dooley. She graduated from high school in Bellmore, Indiana and then from Purdue with a degree in Home Economics. On June 23, 1949 she married Kenneth Yegerlehner. He preceded her in death in 1995. Mary Lois was very active in the family farm as they raised their 4 children. Their home was often the place where friends and family gathered for holidays, picnics, and celebrations.

She loved sewing, cooking, being outdoors – tending her many flowers and a large vegetable garden.

Mary Lois was a member of the First United Church of Christ and served in many leadership positions within the church.

She was also a member of the Everwelcome Home Ec. Club, the Farm Bureau, and a 4-H leader – serving many roles in each organization. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Mary Lois was preceded in death by her parents Reuben and Lois Dooley; her husband Kenneth Yegerlehner; a daughter Donna Youngblood; and her brothers: John and Bill Dooley.

She is survived by her 3 children: Alan Yegerlehner and wife Mary of Clay City, Cara Ellis and husband Bob of Fortville, and Diane Moon and husband Terry of Bowling Green; grandchildren: Kate Cobb and husband Doug, Luke Yegerlehner and wife Lauren, Jess Yegerlehner, Libby Oestreich and husband John, Matt Ellis and wife Amanda, Clayton Sands and wife Liz, Derek Youngblood and fiancé Angie Mason, Brent Youngblood and wife Meghan, and Tyler Moon; 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in law: Duane and Jo Yegerlehner and Don and Carolyn Fulk; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Mary Lois’ caregivers, they added so much joy to her life.

Services will be at the First United Church of Christ, 6414 South County Rd 300 East, Clay City, IN 47841 on Saturday December 1, 2018 at 1:00 with Pastor Bob Wilkins officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church, December 1st, 11am until time of services.
