This is my mom!!! She lived every minute from November 14, 1909 until November 12, 1997. She had a zest for life and knowledge throughout her life. She loved to travel, read, play cards, quilt, garden,to watch IU basketball, to visit with friends, a master of the pen as she communicated through letters with friends and family. She had the BEST laugh!! She was the most intelligent person I have ever known. She taught school from the time she was a late teen until she retired except for the years she was home raising her 5 children. Being the youngest I think I got the very best of her...she was my best friend and my source of strength throughout my life!! I miss her every day!!!! Marilou Perry Woods class of '68

When, I was in the 5th grade at Montezuma, IN, your mother was my teacher.  I had a lot going on that year, with my father having cancer, selling of the farm that I loved so much, and moving to Rockville, IN in January of 1960, and my father dying in February, but your mother being my teacher was a pride spot.   I really liked her and she kinda made me her pet.  I have always had the most respect and caring for her thru my life, for the way she helped me that first semester of my 5th grade year. Thank you for putting your memories of you mother on Rox Alumni, for it made me think of her once again.

Thank You!

Ivan W. Doan
