Ronald E. Lewis, 70, of Montezuma, Indiana passed away Sunday, October 9, 2022 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. He was a retired mechanic having worked for Mace Ford, Lincoln and Mercury in Terre Haute and Humphrey Equipment in Rosedale.

 He was born December 24, 1951 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Lonnie Lee Lewis and Patricia Louise Minton Henderson. 

Survivors include his father of Montezuma and mother of Rockville; three daughters, Angela Davis of Indianapolis, Brandi (Chris) Kuhfahl of Columbus, and Chelsea (Brent) Cox of Montezuma; three brothers, Joe Lewis of Rockville, Mike Lewis of Rockville and Marcus Lewis of Montezuma; four sisters, Joyce Ann See, Pamela Martin, Melinda Cipriano and April Askren all of Montezuma; eight grandchildren, Bradley, Gared, Braden, Ryleigh, Talan, Bailey, Gavin and Briar; one great granddaughter, Nova; several nieces and nephews. 

He was a sergeant with the U.S. Army where he received the National Defense Metal, Vietnam Service Metal with two bronze stars, Vietnam Campaign Metal and Marksman. He was a member, Past Commander, and Treasurer of American Legion Tony Kashon post 290 in Rosedale; member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Paul Taylor post 1752 in Rockville, Parke Masonic Lodge # 8, and Rockville Elk’s Lodge # 2471.

 He participated with the Military Funeral Honor Guard for many Parke County veterans, and was a volunteer driver for veterans to the VA Hospital. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and dining out. He was an all-around good person who was always present for his family.

 Services will be 1:00 pm Friday, October 14, at Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home, 281 N. Main Street, Rosedale, with Pastor Sheila Thompson officiating Burial with military honors will follow in Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation is from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Friday.
