GATLINBURG, TENNESSEE-Ruth Esther Michael, 100, of Gatlinburg, Tennessee and formerly of Kingman, Indiana and Rockville, Indiana died at 10:50 pm Sunday, January 22, 2012 in LeConte Medical Center of Sevierville, Tennessee. 

She was a homemaker. 

She was born July 31, 1911 in Dana, Indiana to the late George Douglas and Emma Frae Jackson Douglas. 

Her husband of 61 years, Clarence "Buss" Michael whom she married March 21, 1931 died May 23, 1992. 

Survivors include three sons, George Michael and wife Louise Michael of Rockville, Indiana, William Michael and wife Sheryl Michael of Rockville, Indiana and Frank "Sonny" Michael and wife Dorthea Michael of Rockville, Indiana; three daughters, Mary Kelch and her husband John Kelch of Crawfordsville, Indiana, Janet Flock of Lafayette, Indiana and Ann McCullough and her husband Robert McCullough of Gatlinburg, Tennessee; 17 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren. 

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Frank Douglas; one sister, Hazel Mary Douglas. 

She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church. She was a 1929 graduate of Bellmore High School. She enjoyed reading, cooking and quilting. 

Services will be 10:00 am Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 West Howard St., Rockville with Rev. Perry Mager officiating. 

Burial will follow services in New Discovery Cemetery, rural Rockville. 

Visitation will be 4 to 8 pm Friday, January 27, at Gooch Funeral Home.
