George G. Rowe, 86, of Rockville, died at 8:05 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Rosewalk Village in Lafayette. He was born June 22, 1925, in Indianapolis, to Forrest Campbell and Inez Hazelbaker Rowe.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine White Rowe; and three brothers,  Cole, Cody, and Jesse Rowe. Survivors include one son, Todd Rowe RHS '73 (Patty) of Greencastle; one daughter, Kimberly Rowe Brown RHS '74 (Brian) of Tangier; four grandchildren, Jason Rowe (Amanda) of West Lafayette, Megan Rowe of Lafayette, and Jeremy Brown and Kelly Laney, both of Tangier; three great-grandchildren,  Justin, Jackson, and Anna Rowe of West Lafayette; and three brothers, his twin, Macy Rowe of Terre Haute, Jack Rowe of Ohio, and Rodney Rowe of Arkansas.        
He graduated from Bellmore Union High School.  He worked at the Rockville Tribune for 25 years and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World  War II. He was a member of Rockville Presbyterian Church.                                  
Services are 1 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2012, Barnes and Rice Funeral Home, in Rockville. Visitation is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial is in Memory Garden Cemetery, Rockville, with military graveside rites by Parke County Veteran’s Organization.
