Herman Davis was a good friend of my father, John Martin Upp, son of John Lionel Upp. Mr. Davis lived about a half block from our home and we could see him sitting on his front porch in the evenings. I recall he and my dad having chats--I suppose about the "old days." Mr. Davis was a very good artist drawing cartoons, painting window advertisements, publishing some of his drawings in the Rockville Republican, and painting the Parke County landscape! You can see some of his work at the Parke County Museum/Art Gallery on the North side of the Square. Does anyone have any of his work?
