Jane Warden (English 66)

Just wanted everyone to know that Jane Warden passed away 3-5-2010.
She taught many of you and I know she will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.She was my Mom so I know what I'm talking about when I say that she really cared for you and just wanted the best for you.
I remember many nights in our home when she would be distraught over a student's progress or personal situation. She would never say who she was thinking about but I'm sure many of you know that my Mom was in your corner. She loved you.

I had Mrs. Warden for a teacher. You could always tell she cared. She was the best.

Jay-I was sad to hear about your mother passing away. Yes she was a very good teacher but an even better friend. I remember talking to her many times at your house as we played in the garage or wherever. She was always concerned and worried for alot of us. My prayers are with you and your brother.
Take care,

What a nice and fun teacher your mom was. I thought the world of her and Wink. I also thought the world of grandma Mae. Do you guys remember grandma Mae's fan with the rubber blades? She would get aggravated with me for sticking my fingers in it and stopping it. I hope some one else did that too besides me. Your mom always would complement me on content and then say but your murdering the kings English.
Had to love that. I told her I was taking English as a second language so take that in mind when grading.
She loved you both she told me once that Jay was the adventurer and Jon was the writer with a great imagination.
Wink had a great story when he opened a hamburger stand I think he said it was in the Ritz building and called the Silver Front.

I am a little late to the party in remembering Mrs. Warden. I had her for 5th grade English in '81 - '82. I think she retired at the end of that school year. She was a wonderful and kind teacher. I also enjoyed seeing her and Wink in church at Rockville UMC. My favorite memory was writing an essay on Abraham Lincoln for the DAR essay contest. She gave me a B, but after I finished 2nd in the DAR contest, she revised my grade to an A. (Her original grade of a B was probably more appropriate since I surely copied most of my material from the World Book Encyclopedia.).  I enjoyed reading others' comments and memories above. Her memory lives on.
