Louise E. Michael, 84, of Rockville, passed away
peacefully, Tuesday morning, September 1, 2015
at The Waters of Greencastle Healthcare. She
was born July 25, 1931 in Montezuma, Indiana,
daughter of Elmer and Flora Thomas Cox.
Louise graduated from Rockville High School
in 1949. She received a Bachelor of Education
degree, Masters Degree from Indiana State
University. She married George C. Michael on July
31, 1955 and he preceded her on November 18, 2013.
Louise retired from Rockville Community School with 37 years of service at
Rockville Elementary School. Louise's memberships included Rockville First United
Methodist Church, Parke Co. Covered Bridge Art Association, Tri Kappa, Delta
Kappa Gamma, Parke-Vermillion Retired Teachers Association.
Louise is survived by three daughters, Lisa (Jerry) Leonard of Rockville, Lana (Brian)
Lear of Carbon, Georgena (Scott) Bettis of Rockville, four grandchildren,
Michaela (Dustin) Rader, Brooks (Ashley) Lear, Rachael (Jeremy) Lewis and Kendal
Whitford, six great-grandchildren, three sisters, Imogene Gooch, Joan Larson and
Rozeanne Berry. She was preceded by her parents and brother, Dale Cox.
Funeral service will be 11 am, Friday, September 4, in Butler Funeral Home, 218
North College Street, Rockville with Pastor Don Hatfield officiating. Burial will
follow in New Discovery Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday, 4-8 pm in funeral home
and prior to service Friday. Memorials to honor Louise's memory may be made to
Parke County Art Assoc., Parke Co. Community Foundation, American Heart Assoc.,
or Alzheimer's Assoc. Envelopes will be available during visitation.
