Larry Vandivier

ROCKVILLE- Larry Lee Vandivier, 69, of Rockville died Tuesday, April 20, 2010 in his residence. He was a retired registered nurse.

He was born August 17, 1940 in Rockville to the late Elmer Vandivier and Blanche Beaty Vandivier.

Survivors include three step-sons, Ron Gross of Georgetown, IL, Don Gross of Danville, IL, Greg Gross of Elwood, IN; two step-daughters, Melody Bridges of Windsor, IL, Sherrie Wilson of Paris, IL; four brothers, Jerry Vandivier of Marshall, IN, Jack Vandivier & Ronnie Vandivier both of Rockville, Robert Vandivier of St. Louis, MO; two sisters, Sharon Lawhorn of Marshall, IN, Lucy Griffin of Rockville; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nancy Applegate Vandivier April 17, 1996; one brother, Emil Vandivier in 1980; two sisters, Norma Jean Earl in 1995 and Janet Rhodes.

He was a member of Rockville First United Methodist Church. He was a 1959 graduate of Rockville High School and received his nursing degree from Indiana State University and attended IVY Tech Community College. He served his country in the United States Navy. He was a charter member of Rockville Elk's Lodge #2471, a past member of the Parke Players, a member of the former Rockville Jaycees and past president of the former Rockville Optimist Club.

Services will be 2:00 pm Friday, April 23, 2010 at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 West Howard St., Rockville with Rev. Ed Fisher officiating. Burial will follow services in Memory Garden Cemetery in Rockville. Visitation from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, April 22, 2010 will be at the funeral home.
