Dr. Benjamin S. Gilmore M.D. 45, of Columbus, died Monday, July 30, 2012, in Columbus. Dr. Gilmore was a physician at Columbus Pediatrics. 

Ben was a wonderful husband, father, son and brother, dearly loved by all. He was a brilliant, caring pediatrician who loved his family, his patients, his dogs and nature. He was an inspiration to everyone who knew him. 

Born in Indianapolis on August 6, 1966, Dr. Gilmore was the son of Thomas S. and Christine Salge Gilmore. He married Julie A. Bever on June 18, 1994. 

Survivors include his parents, of Franklin; his wife; children, Olivia and Clayton Gilmore, both of Columbus; and siblings, Duncan (Rebecca) Gilmore of Attica, Gibson Gilmore of Indianapolis and Alexa (Brent) Bilsland of Terre Haute. 

Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike. A private family celebration of Dr. Gilmore's life is planned. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Columbus Regional Hospital Foundation Pediatrics or Riley Hospital for Children.
