Carrol Cronk

Carrol L. Cronk, 90, Crawfordsville, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.  

He was born in Parke County on Aug. 10, 1927 to the late Burl & Minerva (Booth) Cronk. He graduated from Rockville High School and received his real estate license and graduated from income tax school.  

In his earlier years he farmed in Parke County and moved to Montgomery County in 1961. He worked at Raybestos for 30 years, retiring in 1991. He loved hunting and for several years he traveled to Wyoming to deer and antelope hunt with his best friend. He was a 60-year member of the Rockville Masonic Lodge and the Terre Haute Scottish Rite.  

He is survived by his companion of 42 years, Barbara Sue “Susie” Ellingwood and his children, Carolyn Sue (Steve) Cornett, David (Virginia) Cronk, James Cronk, Doris Cronk, and Lindy Cronk; 8 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 31, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Shoemaker Funeral Home in Waynetown. The funeral service will be Monday, April 2, 2018 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Tony Roe officiating.  Burial will follow at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
