Charles Jones - Class Of 1952

Charles Leon "Dink" Jones, 82, of Rockville, died at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at his residence. He was born July 25, 1934, in Rough and Ready, Parke County, to William Henry Jones and Ruby Lorena Cottrell Jones. He married Myrtle Ann Bennett on March 17, 1954, at the home of the Rev. James O. Trousdale. 

He was a Union Carpenter and member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters 859 in Greencastle. He served in the National Guard. 

Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Jones of Rockville; five sons, Charles (Arlene) Jones of Moore, S.C., Carl Adrian Jones Sr. of Rockville, Jim L. (Debbie) Jones of Rockville, Brian (Julia) Jones of Hillsdale, and Robert Wade (Ginger) Jones of Shelburn; three daughters, Florinda (Richard) Pruitt of Dana, Ila Jo Jones of Mansfield, and Cathy Mitchell of Catlin; 25 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gene M. Jones of Clinton and Kevin M. Jones of Rockville; and three sisters, Myrna Perry of Rockville, Evelyn Ward of Newport, and Linda Davis of Rockville. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, William Henry Jones Jr. 

Funeral services are 7 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Barnes and Rice Funeral Home, Rockville, with Marta Adubato officiating. Inurnment with a memorial service at Beacon Hill Cemetery will be held at a later date. Visitation is 3 p.m. Saturday until the time of service.
