Eileen Mitchell

July 30, 1934-July 13, 2014

Eileen Mitchell, beloved mother and grandmother, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 13, 2014, in her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born July 30, 1934, to Ed and Dorthy Burks at Rockville. She was 79 years old.  She was a member of Byron Christian Church, Church Ladies aid and she was a Bryon Boys & Girls 4-H leader for many years. She graduated from Rockville High School in 1952.  She married Kenneth Mitchell on June 1, 1952, at Waveland. He died in 2011.  

Survivors include: her children, Debra Spillis and Doug of Crawfordsville, Karen Mitchell and Mark of Marshall, Donna Jeffers of Crawfordsville, Keith (Dawn) Mitchell of Clinton and Roger (Deb) Mitchell of Marshall; grandchildren Toby, Bill, Brett, Dareth, Jordan, Brodie, Braden and Brock; many great-grandchildren; sister Ruth Poole; brothers, Harold, Lee, Bill and Sam Burks; and nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson Todd; and sister Alma Northcutt.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2014, at Machledt & Servies Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Mike Sabens will officiate. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery.
