James Richard Cottrell

James Richard “Chief” Cottrell, age 86, Passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021 in Biloxi, MS.
Chief was born on September 22, 1935 in Rockville, IN to Paul and Rose Cottrell. He graduated from Rockville High School in 1953 and retired from the U.S. Navy after 24 years of service. Chief was a school bus driver and a farmer. He was a fan of the Cubs and the Bears.
Chief was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Judith Cottrell; sons, Randall (Duangta) Cottrell and Timothy (Leala) Cottrell; daughter, Kimberly Cottrell; brothers, Paul, Dale, and Charles Cottrell; 7 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
A private service will be held at a later date. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport, MS is honored to serve the Cottrell family.

Jim Bratcher (1964)

Cheif  was a great fellow, used  to have  coffee  with him  and  ate  jona fish  with him a  few  times, good guy,  so sad,   condolences  to his family  and used  to  work with his brother Dale  at RR Donnelly .God be  with  them ,Amen

Hubert Ray Hall (1953)

I have many memories of my classmate that we knew as "Dick." I especially remember while we were in school , Dick John Hudson and myself going to Cub games at Wrigley field and statying with Dick's aunt in Hammond, Indiana. We took a bus from Hammond, then caught the "el and subway" to Wrigley. We saw a lot of the Cubs when they were not very good, but IT WAS THE CUBS.  My condolences to the family
