ROCKVILLE- Bert M. Wimmer, 81, of Rockville, Indiana died at 5:45 pm Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Clinton Gardens in Clinton. 

He was a retired farmer and a Beck's Hybrid Seed Corn Dealer. 

He was born April 19, 1930 in Union Township, Parke County, Indiana to the late Walter H. Wimmer and Ina T. Swaim Wimmer. 

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Maryellen Smith Wimmer whom he married July 4, 1953 in Greenwood, South Carolina; also surviving, one son, W. Max Wimmer RHS '74 and wife Susie Wimmer RHS '78 of Rockville; three daughters, Sally Wimmer Burgess RHS 74 and husband Doug Burgess of Rockville, Susie Thompson and husband Phil Thompson of Terre Haute and Becky Walter RHS '81 and husband Jeff Walter of Bloomingdale; six granddaughters, Brooke Wimmer RHS 2008, Morgan Burgess RHS 2009, Megan Thompson, Emily Thompson, Kara Walter and Kylie Walter. 

He was preceded in death by to infant sons, Joe and Mark Wimmer. 

He was a 1948 graduate of Rockville High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Active in community affairs he was a member of Parke Masonic Lodge #8, Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute, Zorah Shrine of Terre Haute, Royal Order of Jesters #45, a 4-H member and supporter, member of the Hoosier Field Trial Club and past field trial bird dog Judge throughout the United States and Canada. He also served as a board member for Little Raccoon Conservancy District, Rockville Community School Corporation and was a retired Director for the Rockville National Bank. 

A private graveside service with Pastor Jack E. Hopkins officiating will be held Tuesday, March 20, in Memory Garden Cemetery, Rockville with burial following. A public visitation will be held Monday, March 19, from 4-8 pm in Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville. A Masonic memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm Monday by Parke Lodge # 8..

Mary Jane Allbright (Evens) (1970)

Bert was my cousin and I have such wonderful memories of spending holidays with him, his entire family, Uncle Walt and Uncle Lee.  Families don't do that much anymore and it is such a shame as that is were memories are made.  I will miss him.
