Betty Lou Wright, 79, of Terre Haute, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017 at her home. She was born on June 26, 1937 in Parke County to Myron R. Smith, Sr. and Clotine (Bartley) Smith.

Betty is survived by her sons, Michael Wright, Jr. and wife Mary Dawn and Paul Wright, all of Terre Haute; a sister, Linda Phillips; brothers, Thomas J. Smith and Myron Smith, Jr.; three grandchildren, Mary Beth Deevers and husband Mike, Michael Ray Wright and wife Crystal, and Jacob Paul Wright; six great-grandchildren: Morgan, Malachi, and Matthew Deevers, Kyleigh, Madisyn, and Bryce Wright, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Michael Wright, Sr.; brothers: John W. Smith, Delbert R. Smith, and Robert F. Smith; sisters: Norma J. Loden, Emily J. McDonald, and Sue Paddock; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Betty worked for Eastern Express and General Motors. She worked at General Housewares, retiring in 1999. Betty was a member and Past Worthy Matron of OES #43 and a past member of the Rebekkah Lodge.

Betty liked to sew, knit, crochet, and make ceramics. She also enjoyed bowling. Betty liked to go gambling and watch her boys race at the dirt track. She always looked forward to her Thursday afternoon ladies lunches.

Visitation will be held from noon until 2 p.m. on Friday, June 9, 2017 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, at the funeral home with Jerry Burns officiating. Betty will be laid to rest with her husband in Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association .
