ROCKVILLE- Maxine Louise "Lou" Swaim, 73, of Rockville, Indiana died at 2:25 pm Monday, July 14, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Seaton Hospital in Lafayette. 

She was a homemaker. She was born May 20, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Fred Carver and Maxine McCalister Carver.

On November 1, 1985 she married William Bonner Swaim and he survives. Also surviving, children, Ann (Randy) Hathaway of Veedersburg, Christine (Ron) Conrad of Danville, Illinois, Wendy Robinson of Covington, Jay (Carla) Trahan of Oxford, James (Cathy) Trahan of Veedersburg, Jason (Susan) Trahan of Brazil, Dawn (Jeff) Thomas o f Montezuma, Bill Swaim of Cayuga, Terri (Mark) Gallant of Hendersonville, Tennessee and Judy (Tom) Herwer of Port Townsend, Washington; siblings, Alice Wilkinson of Peoria, Illinois, Paul Campbell, Jr. of Winter Haven, Florida, Paulette Van Vranken of Linarch, Illinois, Richard Campbell of Joliet, Illinois, Philip Campbell of Hickory Hills, Illinois and Kelly Stork of Montgomery, Illinois; 36 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; several nieces, nephews and cousins; She was preceded in death by her birthparents, Paul and Katherine Campbell, brother, Bruce Campbell and grandson Layton Hathaway.

She was a 1959 graduate of Rockville High School. She served our country with the U.S. Navy. She was a Mary Kay Consultant for many years, loved gardening, bowling and family time especially with her grandchildren and their activities. She was a member of Indy Decorative Artist organization.

A public visitation will be held Friday, July 18 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville. Private graveside services will follow with military graveside honors by Parke County Veterans at Memory Garden Cemetery in Rockville with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will follow.
