Just wanted to let you know that Jay Barrett passed away on Aug. 14, 1996. He taught P.E. and Driver's Ed. He coached wrestling (briefly)Girl's track and most notably-football. He was there from Fall of 77-Spring of 1984.
Jay Barrett was an inspired coach. He was great for our kids, and he and Nancy had eight pretty terrific children themselves. One of our favorite memories of Jay was when being interviewed preseason for football, he said he was really looking forward to the year. He said the thing was we were really small, but we were slow, too. I think that might have been the year the Rox were 10 and 0. He made football fun--whether you liked it or not.
