Ge Harry

Georgelyn, “Ge Ge” Kay Jacks Harry passed away Sunday June 1,2025.

Ge Ge was born on April 11, 1940, at home in Rockville IN during a snowstorm to Sid and Lavern Jacks.  She Graduated from Rockville High School.  She attended Indiana State University where she received her Bachelors and master’s in education and was member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority.  She taught school at Mount Summit, Bloomingdale, Fountain Central and Rockville.  She was also a Dr. of Naturopathy.

Family was of the most importance to her.  She loved her family with all her heart and soul.

Ge Ge is survived by her children Sydney (Jim) Bell, Beth (Mike) Hills, and Brice (Amber) Harry and the greatest gift on earth her grandson Jackson Harry.

She is also survived by her nephew and niece Tom and Betty Clary, niece Brenda Clary, great nieces Shannan, Allison, Lauren and Kristen and great nephew TC and her little neighborhood best friend since toddlers, Mary Catherine.  She was also blessed with many bonus grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ge Ge was proceeded in death by her parents, the father of her children and best friend Jerry Harry, sister JoAnn (Bill) Clary, nephew Bill Clary Jr. and great nephew Trey Clary.

She loved hosting family gatherings, cooking breakfast for friends after late night outings and was always welcoming her children’s friends to the house.  She was the first to ante for a poker game.  She was never afraid to bid a slam in bridge, and she loved taking your money on the golf course but was the first to buy a round of beer at the 19th hole.

Ge Ge was a multi club champion at the Parke County Golf Course.  She participated many times in the state ladies amateur golf tournament, and she was on the winning state and national Cancer

Society golf tournament team.

She was known as the “whistler” as she was always whistling, which made it difficult to lose her.  We told her it was a sign of her happiness.

Ge Ge was also a coach.  She coached tennis, volleyball, basketball and swimming.  She treated her players like family.  She ran the Rockville swimming pool where she took care of many children and was one of the first lifeguards.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Lora and Tammy at Springhill Village, all the nurses and staff and Harrisons Crossing and nurse Becky and staff at Elara Home Health and Hospice.

Should friends so desire, donations can be made in her name to the Parke Vermillion Animal Shelter or the Rockville Swimming Pool.

She will be missed by many, and she loved so many, but she will be most missed by her children and her grandson Jackson.  We ended all our conversations with “Good night, I Love You, see you in the morning”.  She would often remind us she loved us more than we will ever know.  We know.  So, one last time:

GNILYSYITM!
