LE- Tina L. Allee, 63, of Bloomingdale, Indiana passed away Friday, August 13, 2021 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Tina was a retired schoolteacher that touched the lives of many children and families across the county, first at Rockville High School then finishing her career at Turkey Run. In between teaching, she opened Allee's Country Pantry alongside her surviving husband of 40 wonderful years, Neil B. Allee of Bloomingdale, where they enjoyed morning coffee with the many friends and loyal customers who frequented the store.
Tina was born November 20, 1957 in Terre Haute, Indiana to the late Harmon Sietze Jorritsma and Betty I. Hale Jorritsma. She spent most of her childhood in Garden Grove, CA with her surviving sister, Debi Parham of Montezuma, before she moved back to Indiana to attend Indiana State University and ultimately found her home in the relaxing countryside with Neil.
She is also survived by her children, Natalia (Gavin) Ryan of Cary, North Carolina, Terin (fiancée John Shelton) Allee of LaPorte and Dalen Allee of Huntersville, North Carolina, and granddaughter, Cambrie Ryan. Nothing brought a smile to Tina's face quite like video chat sessions with her granddaughter in between visits where they could be together. Tina's love didn't stop with her family, it extended to the friends of her children for whom she made her home feel like it was their own.
Tina kept very active in the community. She grew up in the Park Avenue Church of Terre Haute and Crystal Cathedral Church in Garden Grove. She previously attended the Bloomingdale Friends Church and was a leader with Parke County 4-H and Girl Scouts. She loved to travel with Neil and test her luck with the slot machines at any casino, but nothing made her more relaxed than soaking up the sun atop her lawnmower or enjoying a peaceful evening with her family either inside by the fireplace or outside around the campfire.
We are grateful for the love and support we have already received from everyone, and we look forward to continuing celebration of Tina’s life on Saturday. However, we must put the health and safety of our family and friends above all else, and will now be holding the visitation at Beechwood Park. Guests will be asked to stay in their cars and proceed through the line to pay their respects to the family. Thank you all for your understanding.
A memorial drive thru visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm Saturday, August 21, at the Beechwood Park in Rockville.
Memorials, should friends so desire, may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, 6520 N Andrews Ave, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33309 in her memory. Online condolences may be shared at www.goochfuneralhome.com.
