Carlton Butler

Carleton E. Butler, 74, of Rockville, died Friday, March 21, 2008, in Rockville Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Butler was born Nov. 27, 1933, in Parke County, the son of Lochel and Mary Pauline Dowen Butler. He was a retired lineman working for International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1393. Survivors include his wife Celeste (St. Pierre); sons, Carleton E. Butler II (Stephanie) of Rockville, Forrest B. Butler of Terre Haute and Jerry Pettibone of Aurora, Colo.; daughters, Kelly Price (Rich) of Florida, Shelly Woodrow (Todd) of Kingman and Melanie Jones (Alan) of Kingman; son-in-law, Ray Reissmann; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Stacey Reissmann; siblings, Mary Katherine White, Jack Butler, Lester Butler, Dean Butler, Lois Jeanne Butler, Margaret Butler. He was a member of Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 344 of which he was a past master, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute, Zorah Shriners of Terre Haute, BPO Elks Lodge 2471, Moose Lodge, Sons of American Legion and Sons of Amvets. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Tuesday in Gooch Funeral Home, 112 Howard Street, Rockville, with the Rev. Bill Emberton officiating, interment Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Pallbearers are Jack and Dan Butler, Jack and Ron White, Larry Harmon and Alan Jones.
