In Memory

Jack Trousdale - Class Of 1961

Jack Trousdale

Jack Trousdale, age 76, left this earth on November 10, 2018 only to be united with Christ in heaven.

Jack was born on March 5, 1942 to James Oscar Trousdale and Mary Margaret (Logsdon) in Grayson, Kentucky. He graduated from Rockville High School in 1961, and he was self-employed as a truck driver for Mercer Transportation until his retirement. He married Sandi (Rice) Brashear in 1979. He was a long-time member of Staunton First Christian Church where he served as an elder, Sunday School teacher, youth leader, and wherever he was needed.

During Jack’s life on earth, he displayed integrity, hard work, joy, and love. He showed everyone what it meant to love God and love others through his interactions with every person he met. It is impossible to count the amount of lives he impacted by his friendliness, selflessness, laughter, words, and faithfulness. He cared deeply about his family and the church, and he leaves behind a legacy of love, truth, joy, and light that only comes from Christ. May those he loved continue to carry on this legacy to the world.

He is preceded in death by his son, Eric Scott Trousdale, and his parents.

He leaves behind his wife of 39 years, Sandi Trousdale; four children: Stephen Trousdale (Victoria), Mark Trousdale, Shane Brashear (Jennifer), Shannon Young (Tony); seven grandchildren: Nicole Trousdale, Dylan Brashear, Emma Brashear, Abbey Brashear, Keziah Young, Sophie Brashear, and Thaddeus Young; a sister, Sue Moody, a brother, Eric Trousdale (Judy), a sister-in-law, Cheri Hammersmith (Denny), and several nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services will be held at Clearview Cemetery. Friends are welcome to join his family at Staunton First Christian Church 108 E Columbus St, Staunton, IN 47881 on November 17, 2018 from 2-4pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at the church at 4pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Staunton First Christian Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 143 Staunton, Indiana 47881.

Sorry to hear of Jack's passing.  I was fortunate to have the opportunity to play football for two years at Rockville and enjoyed Jack as one of my teammates.
