BELLMORE- Darell Joseph Robbins, 62, of Bellmore, Indiana died Monday, October 8, 2012 in St. Vincent Carmel Hospital in Carmel, Indiana.
He was a retired mechanic. He was born July 27, 1950 in Augusta, Georgia to the late Darell George Robbins and Erna Sholl Robbins.
His wife of 36 years, Alice J. Bukea Robbins whom he married February 21, 1976 in Rockville survives; also surviving, one son, Randy (Shannon) Robbins of Greenwood, Indiana; one daughter, Rosa (Michael) Brattain of Rockville, Indiana; one brother, Basil Robbins of Indiana; one sister, Darlene (Jim) Brodkorb of South Dakota; five grandchildren, Austin Hartman, Braden Hartman, Isabella Rose Brattain, Abby Robbins and Kirsten Robbins.
He was preceded in death by a son, Herb J. Robbins on May 26, 2009.
He was a 1969 graduate of Rockville High School and a 1971 graduate of Lincoln Technical Institute of Indianapolis. He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, GWRRA chapter D of Terre Haute where he served as chapter director. He recently retired from the Bellmore Volunteer Fire Department with 36 years of service. He loved his grandchildren.
Services will be 11:00 am Thursday, October 11, in Gooch Funeral Home at 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville, with the Rev. Don Perry and the Bellmore Volunteer Fire Department officiating. Burial will follow in Hebron Cemetery in Russellville, Indiana. Visitation is from 4-8 pm Wednesday at Gooch Funeral Home.
