In Memory

Joe Overpeck - Class Of 1969

Joe Overpeck

Deceased Classmate: Joe Overpeck (1969)
Date Deceased: 11-1988
Age at Death: 37
Survived By: Many brothers and sisters

Accomplished organist, maybe a Ph. D., he was organist at a large church in New Orleans, the last I knew, family would have further information, probably especially Asenath Overpeck Rocke as I know they were close. The above date of death is approximate, I am sure it was fall of 1988, a few months before our 20th class reunion in 1989.

I rembemer Joe as a very accomplished musician. I have good memories of band and chorus and his smiling face.

JOE WAS THE SON OF JR AND MARJORIE HOLBERT OVERPECK. HE HAD MANY BROTHERS AND SISTERS. JOE WAS AN EXCELLENT MUSICIAN, ESPECIALLY ON THE PIANO AND ORGAN. HE PLAYED AT A LARGE CATHEDRAL IN NEW ORLEANS. HE WAS ALSO CHOIR DIRECTOR. HE PASSED AWAY WAY TOO YOUNG. HE LOVED HIS LORD AND FAMILY . A NATIONAL MAGAZINE HAD JOES HANDS IN A COMMERCIAL. HIS HANDS WERE ON A KEYBOARD OF A GRAND PIANO.
