James E. “Jim” Byers, 73, of Rockville, Indiana passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024, at  Ascension St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis. 

He was a retired farmer and mechanic. 

He was born March 16, 1951, in Clinton, Indiana to the late John H. Byers and Mary Malloy Byers. 

Survivors include two sisters, Celeste (John) Wheatfill of Rockville and Catherine (Ron) Cookson of Oregon; one brother, Jay H. Byers of Rockville; two nieces, Michelle Woods and Stacy Canfield; great nieces, Shelby Woods and Makayla Canfield; one great nephew, J.J. Flood. 

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and John P. Byers. 

He was a 1969 graduate of Rockville High School. He enjoyed computers, electronics, animals and was an avid reader. 

Services will be 12 noon Tuesday, April 23, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville, with Pastor Rodney Coffman officiating. Burial will follow at Clear Run Cemetery in Bridgeton. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 12 noon Tuesday at Gooch Funeral Home.
