Peggy Hutson Kouns, 69, of Mecca, died at 9:15 pm on August 25, 2016 in Vermillion Convalescent Center.  She was born May 14, 1947 in Clinton to Max Wayne Hutson and Reva Jane Ellison Hutson.
She was retired from the Rockville Correctional Facility.  She had attended the Independent Baptist Church in Montezuma.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Jimmy Hutson, Max Lee Hutson, and Larry Dean Hutson; and two sisters, Donna Kay Wilson and Lavetta Mendenhall.
She is survived by two daughters, Kimberly and Travis Pattison of Plainfield and Kelly Kouns Lawson of Rosedale; two sons, Gary Kouns II and Teresa of Mecca and Denny Kouns of Mecca; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Putnam of Altamont, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was at Brown-Mack Funeral Home.  Services with Reverend Tim Guoli officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
