To one of my best friends throughout high school; you made me feel so welcome and that meant a lot to me as a third grader. We continued to have great times all the way until we graduated and at other times for many years after. You made every occassion to which you came a total blast. Your laugh was so contagious and big; just like your heart. You will be missed by all your many friends...more than I can say. Rest in peace, loved one.

Sheila was a good friend to all of us in the class of '68.  She has always been a fighter when things were not so good.  Sheila, I am proud of how hard you fought this thing  and I know you have given so many others courage for anything that might come along in their lives.  Thank you Sheila for that and your love as a friend all through my life.    We all love you and will never forget you.

Sheila...No matter how many years had passed since I had last seen her she always exploded with excitement when we met again.  She fought a good fight and now she has won the ultimate victory. Rest in Peace dear friend!

Dear God this is awful, Sheila.  I remember so many good times when we were kids. You were like another sister to me. But, in a strange way, I'm glad for you that your constant struggle over the past years is finally over and you have no more pain.  You deserved none of this, and now you're at rest...for that I am thankful. You were everything...sweet but sassy, pretty but a tomboy, funny but compassionate.  You were my first real "girl" friend but not "girlfriend"...yet I still loved you for that. I'll ask my classmates here, how many girls back then do you know their actual birthdates?...Sheila's was October 3, 1950...Why do I know that? Because we were so close, so early in life.  Can anyone remember who first told you there really was no Santa Claus?...Yes, for me it was Sheila!  Who did you walk to school with for majority of your school years...yes, Sheila!  These are the little things I'll always remember about her.....Our lives haven't been entwined very much over the past decades, but I will never forget these little personal connections between she and I.  I invite anyone interested to look at my Rox website page and see the pictures I have in there about her...and these weren't just added in the last few days!  They have been in there since Day One of my Rox website presence. May God bless you Sheila, because you have blessed my life!

Sheila,

That photo of us pushing that vehicle and driving in my step dad's VOLVO (yes a VOLVO in INDIANA) tells it all....but despite your best efforts I just could not do the girl dancing with girl thing you tried so hard to get me to do.

Oh what special memories for this California kid who you took under your arm like a sister.  Oh by the way, I am still looking for that special "grass" you recently asked me to get and mail to you from Arizona.  You were too funny.

Thanks for the love and friendship all the years; you will be in my heart forever.

Love,

Linda May- way out West in

Prescott, AZ

and a note to her family---how lucky you were and are to have had such a special person give you life and be in your life.....we should all be so blessed.....thanks for sharing her with us.

My Dear Friend Sheila,(She-Bop)

I will never forget the many, many many memories that we shared back in High School.  School, the dances, Summer work at Funk Seeds detasseling corn, chasing after the "out of town guy's the summer of '67 from Oklahoma", Roxettes, Parties with our "68" Classmates, getting stuck in the snow and trying to push McKinney's car out...I think we fell down  more than we could stand up, laughing all of the time.  I could go on and on.

Your health struggle is over.....May you Rest in Peace.

Love,

Becky (Rawls)

Sheila, you will be missed, but all who knew you know you fought the good fight. Now is the time for you to rest and enjoy the reward you so richly deserve. Thanks seems so inadequate for all the memories we shared, but I will always remember your laughter and that beautiful smile that could light up any room. Wish I could have been around all these years to get to know your family. I'm sure they're all as special as you. Don't believe in goodbye's, so will just say, see you in heaven!

Wanda (Brown) Riggs, fellow ROX Cheerleader!
