Let Us Pause To Honor the Memory of Mrs. Dorothy E. Everly Waltz

Mrs. Dorothy E. Waltz, age 80 of Rockville, Indiana, entered this life on March 18, 1924, in Owen County, Indiana, the daughter of Otto & Hallie Oberholtzer Everly, both of whom preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to George G. Waltz on November 25, 1954, in Spencer, Indiana. She was a former teacher in the Valparaiso, East Chicago & the Rockville School Systems. She was a member of the Rockville First United Methodist Church, the Indiana Retired Teacher’s Association, & the Happy Hours Home Economics Club. She was very active in developing literacy programs and served in various office of Park Adult Tutoring. Over the years she had been active and involved in numerous community organizations including, Tri Kappa, Girl Scouts & Cub Scouts. Dorothy passed from this life on Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at 3:40 am at the West Central Community Hospital in Clinton, Indiana.

Dorothy leaves to mourn her passing her loving husband: George G. Waltz of Rockville, IN; her loving sons: James C. Waltz of Cincinnati, OH; Steven G. Waltz, MD of Rockville, IN; her loving daughters: Sharon Hackett of Louisville, KY; Miriam Waltz of Chicago, IL; her loving brother: Walter Everly of Park Forrest, IL; her loving sister: Phyllis Mercer of North Baltimore, OH; her loving grandchildren: Rachel Waltz, Andy Waltz, Pierce Hackett, Luke Waltz, Abby Hackett, Amanda Waltz & Nick Waltz. Dorothy was also preceded in death by her sisters: Mary Hammack & June Burns. 

Dorothy will be remembered in a funeral ceremony on Saturday, March 5, 2005, at 10:00 am at the First United Methodist Church in Rockville, IN. Visitation will be on Friday from 4-8 pm at the Barnes Mortuary in Rockville, IN; Interment & graveside services will conducted on Saturday at 4pm at the Hebron Cemetery near Madison by Morgan-Webster-Nay Funeral Home, 325 Demaree Drive, Madison, IN. Memorial are to the donor’s favorite charity.
