Patricia Gayle Crays Dixon, age 92, passed away on October 24, 2022 at home in Carmel, Indiana.

Born in Danville, Illinois on June 28, 1930, she was the daughter of Dwight Lyman and Irma Blanche Gibson Crays. She was a 1948 graduate of Rockville High School, attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio for two years before transferring and graduating with distinction from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana in 1952. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi Social Sorority and Mu Phi Epsilon Music Honorary.

On February 6, 1954, she married Norval Wayne Dixon, Jr. at the Rockville First United Methodist Church where she was a life-long member. Mr. Dixon predeceased her on August 28, 2020. They have three children: David Wayne Dixon (Elise) of Dallas TX, Susan Elizabeth Dixon Harbison (Greg) of Rockville IN, and Douglas Alan Dixon (special friend, Beth) of Rockville IN; four grandchildren: Collin A Harbison (Laurie) of Lafayette IN, Kyle E Harbison (Lauren) of Warsaw IN, Rachel E Harbison Street (Daniel) of Forsyth IL, and Erin E Dixon Williams (Joshua) of Wylie TX; Eight (soon to be 9) great-grandchildren: Saylor, Avery, Nora Harbison; Lucy, Molly, Navy Harbison; Kipling Street; Parker Williams and soon-to-be baby boy. She is also survived by one nephew: Michael Davies (Becky), and one great-niece: Michelle Davies Goodwin (Ryan) and their children Macee and Chace. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Waneta Dixon Willoughby and by great-nephew Derran Davies.

Mrs. Dixon was a member of the Board of Directors of The Rockville National Bank and worked part-time at the bank for many years. She was a Founding Board Member of the Parke County Community Foundation, a member of the Current Literature Club for over 50 years, a member of Estabrook Chapter of DAR and a past member of Gamma Sigma Chapter of Tri Kappa. She also played in the Parke County Community Band for nineteen years. She served in many capacities at the First United Methodist Church of Rockville and especially enjoyed singing in the choir and teaching both Sunday School and Bible studies. Her many hobbies included reading, travel, bible study, collecting miniatures, genealogy, cross-stitch, writing, music, and especially enjoyed time spent with family and friends.

For the last 14+ years Mrs. Dixon has made her home at The Stratford of West Clay in Carmel, Indiana.

Services will be held at the Rockville First United Methodist Church on Saturday October 29 at 11:00 am with visitation on Friday October 28 from 4pm – 8pm. Interment will be beside her husband at Memory Garden Cemetery in Rockville, IN.
