Cynthia Harney (Seybold)

PLAINFIELD-Cynthia S. Seybold, 82, of Plainfield, Indiana and formerly of Rockville, passed away at 12:15 pm Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at the Hearth at Prestwick in Avon. She was the retired head cashier for First Financial Bank in Rockville.

She was born December 8, 1936 in Rockville to the late Ray Harney and Olive Starkey Harney. Her husband of 54 years, Carl E. Seybold whom she married April 29, 1956 passed away November 5, 2010.

Survivors include one son, Mark A. (Judy) Seybold of Cary, Illinois; two daughters, Debra K. (Brad) Scott of Lexington, Kentucky and Diane L. (Frank) Leek of Plainfield; one brother, Ray A. Harney of Rockville; seven grandchildren, Benjamin (Caroline) Scott, Heather Scott, Zachary Leek, Elizabeth Seybold, Emily Seybold, Matthew Leek and Jacob Leek; one great-granddaughter, Hayley Scott. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Theresa Gosnell, Leah Miller, Lois Fleming and Carolee Morlan. 

She was a 1954 graduate of Rockville High School. She was a member of the Rockville Christian Church, Friendship Sunday school class, Order of the Eastern Star Montezuma chapter 537, Beta Phi Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority, Rockville Elk’s lodge #2471 and the Red hat Society. 

She enjoyed playing euchre and working sudoku puzzles. 

Services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, June 11, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville. Entombment will follow in the Serenity Wing of the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4-8 pm Monday at Gooch Funeral home with an Order of the Eastern Star memorial service at 7:00 pm.
