Roy Noble Reedy, 78, of Rockville, Indiana passed away Friday, September 23, 2022, at Kindred Hospital in Indianapolis. He was a retired forester with Pike Lumber Company in Carbon. He was born February 7, 1944, in Montgomery County, Indiana to the late C.L. Reedy and Naomi Alberta Collings Reedy.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Carla Webb Reedy whom he married May 29, 1967 in Tuscola, Illinois; also surviving, three daughters, Rhonda (Dale) Stone of Rockville, Shannon Reedy of Bloomington, Illinois and Erika Reedy of Rockville; brother, Lyle (Sandra) Reedy of Brevard, North Carolina; sister, Naomi Allee of Rockville; five grandchildren, Collin, Kelsey, Nathan, Tracey and Shania Stone; two great grandchildren, Spencer and Hudson Stone and one on the way; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Reedy and infant sister, Doris Reedy.
He was a 1962 graduate of Rockville High School and a 1967 graduate of Purdue University. He attended the Marshall Federated Church and was an active member of the former Faith Bible Church. He was active in 4-H during his youth and was Junior National Champion Sheep Shearer. He coached softball for his daughters, he was always an outdoorsman, enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, walking in the woods and animals. He was an active father and grandfather spending quality time with his family.
Services will be 10:00 am Thursday, September 29, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville, with Pastors Dennis Powers, Brian Holt and Jack Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Moriah Cemetery north of Hollandsburg. Visitation is from 4-8 pm Wednesday at Gooch Funeral Home.
