Cindy Carter (Clodfelter) - Class Of 1976

Cindy Carter (Clodfelter)

Cynthia Rose Clodfelter, 61, of Indianapolis, Indiana was called to her Heavenly home on July 9, 2019. She is preceded by her papaw, Ira Carter and grandmother, Rosa Mae Carter. She is survived by her husband and best friend of 45 years, Kenneth Clodfelter, eldest daughter, Lauren Clodfelter and husband Joshua Woods, youngest daughter, Adrien Wade and husband, James Wade as well as her mother, Theresa Carter-Sackett.

Cynthia grew up in the small town of Rockville, Indiana. Through her attendance at Rockville High School, she met her husband and high school sweetheart, Kenneth. She then went onto college to follow her interest in speech pathology. Shortly after, Cynthia and Kenneth were married and moved to Illinois to start their family. While in Rockford, Illinois, she pursued her passion in Interior Design with considerable skill.

There was never a doubt that Cynthia’s family was her passion and delight. A wonderful mother and loving wife, she selflessly spent decades working at the various elementary, middle and high schools to be near her children. Throughout her roles in the schools, Cynthia made such a difference in the lives of all of those who attended, tirelessly devoting her time volunteering, organizing carnivals, chaperoning dances, creating yearbooks, working fundraisers and acting as assistant to the Athletic Director.

Clocking thousands of miles across the country, Cynthia chauffeured her children to all their various sporting events and recitals. After graduating their daughters off to college, Cynthia and Kenneth enjoyed traveling, sporting events, concerts, boating and dining together.

Throughout their various pursuits in life, Cynthia and Kenneth came full circle finding themselves back home again in Indiana where their love story first began.

In lieu of flowers, Cynthia has requested donations be made to Mayo Clinic where she was a participant in clinical research to help find a cure for ALS. Please follow the link below and in the “designate my donation to”, select “other” and write in ALS. https://philanthropy.mayoclinic.org/donateMC.
