J. D. Case

Joe Case of Crawfordsville passed away at home Friday, July 23rd at the age of 78.

Joe was a lead machinist for R.R. Donnelley for 43 years, where he loved his work.  He served his country in the U.S. Air Force as a missile technician.  He was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and past member of the Jaycees, Eagles, and Knights of Columbus.  He loved fishing, bowling, woodworking and square dancing.  He also collected model trains and airplanes.

Born May 27, 1943 in Rockville, Indiana, he was the son of James Warren Case and Lenore Martin Case.  He graduated from Rockville High School.  He married Carol Mitchell on April 24, 1965 in Plattsburgh, New York.

Surviving family includes: wife, Carol Case; three sons, Stephen (Jenny) Case, Brad (Kelsey) Case, Matt (Kim) Case; daughter, Stefanie (Adam) Deaton; two sisters, Karen (Bill) Duval, Jennifer Holland; seven grandchildren, whom he loved very much, Tristan, Sarah, McKenzie, Reagan, Kadin, Alexandria, Mitchell; one precious great-granddaughter, Everleigh.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jim Case.

Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on August 11th at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church.  Visitation will be from 9 AM to the start of services.  Burial with military rites will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
