Ralph Collings

Ralph Edgar Collings, 69, of Rockville, passed away Thursday, November 1, 2018, at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute. 

Born September 3, 1949, in Terre Haute, Ralph was the son of Paul Leonard and Mildred Adelaide Booth Collings.  He grew up on the Collings farm north and east of Bellmore and was a ’67 graduate of Rockville High School.  After serving in the U.S. Army in Germany, he returned home to continue his career at the IGA, where he ultimately worked as General Merchandise Manager.  After his return from Germany, he served in the National Guard for over 20 years. 

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and a niece.  Survivors include a daughter, Angie (David) Nicol of Kansas City, Missouri; a son, Fred Collings of Rockville; three sisters, Marjorie Collings Hall (RHS ’64) of Ontario, Julie (Neil) Hunt (RHS ’69) of Terre Haute, and Marilyn (Marvin) Sechi (RHS ’72) of Overland Park, Kansas; five grandchildren, Laithon McClam,  and Isaac, Leann, Nova, and Mercedes Collings; one great-grandchild, Cali McClam;  three nieces, three nephews, three great-nieces and one great-nephew.

Military burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Hollandsburg, on November 23, followed by a Celebration of Life.

I was so very sorry to learn of Ralph’s passing.  I knew him as Margie’s little brother many years ago.  My thoughts and prayers are with Margie, Julie, Marilyn, and their families.
