John L. Swaim, age 90, of Leesburg, FL passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2019. He was born October 14, 1928 in Rockville, IN. He was the son of Earl G. Swaim and Nellie Louise Testing Swaim. He was a 1946 graduate of Rockville High School, Rockville, Indiana.  He was united in marriage to Barbara Ann Muir on November 17, 1957. They were the proud parents of Rebecca A. Adams and Laura Sue Swaim and the grandparents of Elizabeth Louise Abney and her husband, Michael. He is survived by his wife, his daughters, his granddaughter, and his sister, Janet Deffner. He was preceded in death by his parents and his older sister, Barbara Hardesty. John served in the U.S. Army from October 26, 1951 to October 31, 1953 and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on November 7, 1952. He was employed as a Field Examiner (Auditor) for the Indiana State Board of Accounts from September 17, 1956 to December 17, 1992. He also served as a part-time Local Pastor in the United Methodist Church, serving small churches in West Central Indiana in the United Methodist Church for 15 years. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 3:00PM until 4:00PM at Frontier Church, Leesburg, FL. A Funeral Service will follow in the church at 4:00PM.
