Rosemary Overpeck - Class Of 1952

Rosemary Overpeck

Rosemary Overpeck, 83, of Waveland passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018, at Port Charlotte, Florida, after a short illness.

Rosemary was the oldest of three children and very proud that they all were born on the same day, Nov. 14, but 12 years apart to Clay and Floy (Rose) Overpeck.

After graduating from Rockville High School, she attended Purdue University and graduated from Indiana University School of Nursing.

As a registered nurse she worked at Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis. Rosemary felt the calling to go to Hong Kong as a missionary/nurse and served in that capacity for over 20 years, returning just before Hong Kong was no longer under British control.

Rosemary continued her nursing career at Culver Hospital and after over 50 years of giving, retired from Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health-Crawfordsville in 2012.

She would go to Florida for the winter where she had many friends and returned to her home Waveland in the spring to work in her garden, which she greatly enjoyed.

Rosemary was proceeded in death by her parents and brother John Overpeck.

She is survived by her brother, David of San Antonio, Texas; sister-in-law Mary Jo Overpeck of Topeka, Indiana; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 5 at Waveland Covent United Methodist Church.
