Donald C. Swaim (V. P. )

GREENWOOD- Donald Clay Swaim, 84, of Greenwood, Indiana and formerly of Rockville, died at 2:05 am Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Greenwood Village South.

He retired as Senior Vice President and Cashier of the Rockville National Bank after 47 years of service. He was a licensed Real Estate and Insurance agent. He served in the Indiana National Guard for 17 years, retiring with the rank of Major. He served an additional 20 years in the Indiana Guard Reserve, retiring with the rank of Colonel.

He was born October 12, 1931 in Clinton, Indiana to the late J. Clay Swaim and Blanche Marie Hamilton Swaim.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Rena Evelyn White Swaim whom he married September 1, 1956 in Rockville. Also surviving, one daughter, Donna (Stephen) Lindley of Bloomingdale; two sons, Kevin (Melanie) Swaim of Greenwood and Tracy Swaim of Indianapolis; one brother, James (Keitha) Swaim of Burnsville, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Brad (Vania) Lindley, Stephanie Crum, Cody Swaim, Tyler Swaim; six grandchildren, Shelby, Connor and Aidan Crum, Scout, Alexis and Reagan Lindley; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his step-mother, Muriel Swaim, and sister, Rosemary Jackman.

He was a 1949 graduate of Rockville High School and Wisconsin Graduate School of Banking, He was a member of the Rockville First United Methodist Church, a charter member and longtime treasurer of the Rockville Elk's lodge #2471, Parke Masonic lodge # 8, Scottish Rite of Terre Haute and the Parke County Low 12 Club. He was also past president of the Rockville Town Council.

Memorial services will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, October 1, at the Elks Lodge, 360 Strawberry Road, Rockville. Memorial visitation is Saturday from 11am- 1pm at the Elks Lodge.
