Max Morgan

Max Morgan, 78, of Rockville, Indiana, passed away April 17, 2015 at Union Hospital Clinton. Born April 5, 1937, at the Morgan Coal Mine located South of Rockville the son of Lee and May McMillin Morgan.  

Max graduated from Rockville High School in 1955 and from Indiana State University in 1998.  He served in the U.S. Navy.

After retiring from the U.S. Navy, he retired from Olins in Covington and then worked in Maintenance at Clinton Hospital for 10 years.

He was a member of American Legion Post #48, VFW Post #1752, and AMVETS Post #61 all in Rockville.

He is survived by 3 Step- Children: Eva Lynn Doan (Robert) of Clinton, Werner Allan Soltermann (Karen Mikesell) of Rockville, and Jon William Soltermann of Clinton.  4 Grandchildren:  Ashley Norman (Zach); Jacob Lee (Ariel); Kristin Busenbark (Tyler); and Thomas Soltermann.  3 Great-Grandchildren:  Sophia and Emma Norman and Brighton Lee.  Also surviving are 2 Brothers:  Bob Morgan of Gatlinburg, Tennessee; and Larry Morgan of Montezuma; nephews:  David Morgan Terry Morgan, Bryan Morgan, Dwayne Williams and Rick Morgan and nieces:  Anita Jo Kelly, Lisa Gentry, Monica Jo Olson, Amanda Morgan and Candice Morgan.

Max was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and May Morgan; 2 brothers, Donnie and Richard Morgan; and a sister, Delores May Morgan.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at Barnes and Rice Funeral Home, 111 East High Street in Rockville, with Pastor Gene Walls officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, April 20, 2015 from 4:00-8:00p.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will be in West Union Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites by the Parke County Veterans.
